Partners

IWWA consortium is truly trans-national and multi-disciplinary in character. Made up of 18 partners coming from 10 different African and European countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Germany, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland) the consortium represents a perfect balance which allows for the maximum integration of knowledge, expertise and experience between partners. Consortium members were selected with the aim to have a complementary expertise in different disciplines: (1) waste management technological systems, (2) policy, planning and governance, and (3) local development and capacity building. With regards to their expertise, IWWA's partners can be classified into three different expert groups:

• Partners with a technological background on SWM:
  BIOAZUL, CEIA, EMPA, GAIKER, KNUST, SLU, TTZ, TUB and ZOOM.
• Partners with high expertise in policy, planning and governance:
  BCRC, CEDARE, ELRI, ICANDO, OEKO and UAA.
• Partners with sound knowledge on local development and capacity building:
  CEIA, ELRI, ENDA, IAGU and MATAM.
